Angel

Today Nathan said, "Gracie looks like an angel!" Can you say "awww?"

Funny Taylor Day

This morning when Taylor woke up, he said to me,"Guess what Momma? I had a dream that I ate a chicken nugget that was as big as the houseboat!"

We sat down today to make a list of our summer goals. I told Taylor that since he can't write words yet, to just draw pictures of his goals. Guess what he drew? I bunch of soccer goals!! We had to further explain what kind of "goals" we were talking about!

The Flu in May?

A couple of weeks ago all of my family had the flu. Everyone got it except Grant and Nathan. That seemed really weird to me because they are usually the first ones to get it from school. Anyway, Nathan was determined to get the flu so that he wouldn't have to go to school. He stayed home from school one day but he was totally faking. The next day we sent him to school and he wasn't very happy about it. When I picked him up from school that afternoon I said, "What did you do at school today?" Nathan replied with, "I was just busy swallowing down my throw up all day." When we got home he magically seemed to be OK as he devoured the Cheeze-its and otter pops that we had at home!

Lion Cloth

We have had lots of funny things happen when the words LION and LOIN get mixed up! Grant has been working on an Aztec report for school. He was telling me that he needed a costume for it. This is how the conversation went:
Grant: "Mom, I need a costume for my presentation. I am thinking about wearing a lion cloth or something.
Me: " A what?"
G: A lion cloth. That's what the warriors wore and I'm dressing up as an Aztec warrior. But don't worry, I'll wear cloths underneath it!
Me: (finally understanding what a lion cloth is, smiled and said, "Well, that's probably a good idea buddy."

Another time we were in Arizona visiting Dale and Heather's family. We went to their ward primary activity where they were dividing into groups and were asked to act out different scripture stories. Our kids were given the story of Daniel and the Lion's den. The teacher had made small signs that the children could wear around their necks with the name of the part that they were playing. Guess what Grant, Nathan, and Taylor's signs all said? LOIN! i wish I would have had my camera to capture Daniel and the LOIN'S den!

Batman and Robin Dead?

This year on Memorial Day will did the same thing we do every year. We went to the Bluffdale Cemetery for the patriotic program and put flowers on all the graves of our family memebers. Nathan and my cousin Romney were looking at all the graves and reading what they say. they are both beginning readers and it was fun to see how they pronounced all the names on the grave stones. My favorite though had to be when they spotted to graves side by side with the names Bateman and Robinson on them. Nathan exclaimed, "Look, this is where Batman and Robin are buried!"
